iPhone 13 is here. Should I take the leap?
Apple announced the new iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max, just like you expected. Today, we are going to help you decide whether or not you should update if you have iPhone 12 or any older iPhone.
But before that, can you tell me how much iPhone 13 will cost?
Like every retailer, Apple also targets the top 3 buyer personas and ensures everyone gets an iPhone of their choice. The first type – which is also the majority – is the one who will buy the base model of the new flagship phone. iPhone 13 base model starts at $699 for 128 GB. The second type – one that wants everything best – would definitely seek the most powerful iPhone available, which is the reason we have iPhone Pro and Pro Max, starting at $999 for 128 GB. Finally, the third type – one who wants to own an iPhone yet is a little considerate with budgets – will seek a lighter version. iPhone Mini, the best option here for them, would cost $100 less than the base model.

What’s new – Top 4 Features
What are the major changes in the new Apple iPhone 13?
There’s actually 3 of them…
#1. Display
One most significant change this year is the displays.
Note that the exact change specifications will vary, and they haven’t been made to all versions.
- Pro-motion displays that can go down to 10 hertz all the way up to 120 hertz – You don’t get that pro-motion display on 13 and 13 mini.
- Overall brightness has been increased to 800 nits – On the pro model, it is up to 1000 nits
- Notch has shrunk – It’s narrower, yet a bit taller.
#2. Battery
We’re getting a bump in the battery.
Thickness of the newest iPhone is about 0.2 mm more than the previous versions, and the reason is a bigger battery.
These new, thicker batteries will definitely add 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours extra battery life, depending on the model you are purchasing.
#3. Camera
Of course.
An iPhone is never actually new, if there is no news about its camera, right?
So, what’s new about the iPhone 13’s camera?
- Sensor shift stabilization – 13 and 13 Mini get the sensor shift stabilization, while Pro models get more upgraded sensors
- Ultra wide with auto focus – Take better photos and videos in low light
- Macro version – Allows you to take macro photography
- 3X optical zoom – Telephoto lens will now take in less light because of its reduced aperture
Why should you buy – Top 3 Reasons
Is the iPhone 13 meant for me?
Yes, if…
You are using iPhone 11 or older versions and need ‘5G’
5G was first compatible with iPhone 12, but if you are considering an iPhone now, why buy an older version?
‘Price’ is not a factor
If money literally talked, it would have begged you to go for iPhone 13. There are many worthwhile upgrades and reasons to spend your money on the latest iPhones.
You are prone to “slips and drops”
iPhone 13 has ceramic shield glass on its display that held up greatly during its torture tests. Harder than any metal used for today’s smartphones, ceramic shields protect your display from shattering. Therefore, if you are that huge klutz who always drops phones, 13 is a wise move.
